Can i borrow your spoon, ple-uhs?
Tonight's Menu:Roasted Butternut Squash Soup
served with Garlic, Onion & Sage Naan
Perfect photo-op to show use of our new, glorious spoons! They were simply amazing - there could be no spoon more perfect. Seriously. You should all stop by to try some soup sometime. You won't be sorry.
This was the first time I ever made a soup of this kind. I had to first peel the butternut squash, seed it, cut into 1 inch cubes, add olive oil, salt & pepper - and then roast for 30 minutes. Then I had to prepare the broth. And THEN I had to purée everything together in small batches. I love how this was in my REAL SIMPLE cookbook... and it was so not even that simple. But it was delish. Ben supposed that you couldn't really market a NOT SO REALLY SIMPLE cookbook too well. Guess he's right.
Voila
